This Privacy Policy describes how Scout, operated by Guroo Consulting, LLC (“Scout,” “we,” “us”), collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Scout platform to apply for or manage a mortgage loan.
Information we collect
We collect the information you provide in your loan application and related communications, including your name, contact details (email and mobile phone number), and financial and property information needed to process your loan. We also collect basic technical data (such as device and log information) to operate and secure the service.
How we use your information
We use your information to process and service your loan application, communicate with you and your loan team, provide customer support, and meet legal and regulatory obligations. We use your mobile number to send the loan-related notifications described in our SMS Policy when you opt in.
Text messaging (SMS)
When you opt in, we collect and use your mobile number solely to send you transactional notifications about your loan (document requests, status/milestone updates, and document-upload alerts). Message frequency varies by your loan stage, and standard message and data rates may apply.
We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your SMS consent or mobile number to any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in consent and mobile information are never shared with any third parties or affiliates for any purpose. You can opt out anytime by replying STOP, by turning SMS off in your Scout settings, or by emailing help@scoutmyloan.com.
How we share information
We share your information with the lender and the loan team handling your application, and with subcontractors and service providers who help us operate the platform (for example, hosting and communications providers) under contractual confidentiality obligations and solely to deliver the service. We may disclose information when required by law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
This exclusion applies in all cases to text-messaging (SMS) opt-in data and consent: your SMS consent and mobile number are never shared with any third parties or affiliates for any purpose.
Data retention & security
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our legal obligations, including retaining SMS consent and opt-out records as required by law. We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information.
